![]() + DEVOTED Six is completely devoted to the people she chooses to align herself with and devoted to her cause as a Paladin. Nothing will shake her faith and she will do everything she can to make sure she can both spread the word of her chosen deity and protect those that she thinks need protecting. She is not fanatical, not demanding that everyone follow and support Seyra the way that she does, but she spreads the message of healing all the same and does what little she can for the people. + BRAVE Although she may not believe it herself, Six is incredibly brave. She isn't afraid to rush into battle and take on a fight, especially if she thinks she can make a difference, and she is determined to do what she can to help people. Well trained as a soldier and a fighter, Six is capable and knows it, which strengthens her resolve to do what she can for people, to keep them safe and keep them alive, even at the risk of her own health. + KIND Naturally appearing somewhat stoic and intimidating, Six actually has a very warm, soft heart - she just hasn't had much of a chance to share it with anyone. She has a deep soft spot for animals and children and will do anything to help them/cheer them up, and will go out of her way to support someone or do little tasks for them. She carries a depth of kindness to her that stems from her desire to help people, especially those that can't escape from bad situations on their own. She has a deep-rooted soft spot for the underdog - for anyone who can't take care of themselves, who needs some assistance to get out of something awkward or dangerous, for anyone that struggles with any kind of helplessness - and she responds to that with an intensity that might shock people. She is determined to do the best she can to make sure that people are taken care of, that some sort of justice is given to them - because in her experience it's very unlikely that it'll be done otherwise. + SURVIVOR Six has learned to survive and overcome most obstacles. This has given her a kind of determination she might not have had otherwise, to push and prove herself and try to overcome the danger she faces. She's tough and strong, thanks to her heritage and her training, and she knows she is capable - it just sometimes takes a little bit of a push for her to really accept the fact that she is capable of doing something. - JUDGEMENTAL Thanks to her background and training, Six is quick to believe people who are 'just' and less inclined to trust people who might have a more shady background, and she loathes anyone that drinks to excess. She can be judgemental without really taking note of it, and can sometimes appear cruel and callous because of it. At heart she means well but, unfortunately, her nature and the way she treats and speaks to people sometimes makes that appear as something a little nastier. She does not normally intend to be cruel to people, but without trust she is not as able to be open with them as she might be others. - WITHOUT PURPOSE She also has a very strong sense of needing a purpose in her life: she spent years feeling adrift and alone before she reached maturity and she's desperate to have something that gives her a sense of belonging. It's difficult for her to make connections with other people, emotional or otherwise, but her desire to belong means she tries to fit into the mould of what people are looking for in a knightly character. If she can prove that she's doing something good, that the way she is helping is worthwhile. She doesn't feel as though she belongs with humans or Goliaths, a little out uncomfortable with both, so she doesn't feel as though she fits. - HEADSTRONG This need to find a purpose often means that Six gets herself into trouble that could have been avoidable. Again, she's one of the first to charge into a fight, especially if there's someone that needs protecting, and she'll storm into a 'villain's' house to try and protect someone that has come to her. She has no sense of self-preservation, despite having almost died, and she would put herself and her life on the line a dozen times if it meant that someone else could escape unharmed, much to the frustration of anyone who might know and care about her. - INTIMIDATING Due to her size, her rather stoic nature and the intensity she carries, Six can sometimes be a little bit intimidating. She doesn't mean to be, but there's a sharpness to her - tied with her greatsword and her armour - that makes her appear like the dangerous person she is but does not always intend to be. This can be off-putting to strangers, especially people who might consider her as more of a threat than someone who might actually be a worthwhile friend or ally to them in the future. - SELF-CONFIDENCE While Six has great faith in her abilities as a warrior and a fighter, she doesn't have much confidence in the rest of herself. While Adrian was always very adept at telling her how strong she was, how proud he was of her abilities, she had never really been complimented on her appearance, her beauty or her mind. She therefore has some issues with self-esteem and belief in herself outside of her strength as a fighter, stemming all the way back to the abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. ![]() - Six grew up in a small village near Atrómitos with her father; she had a younger half-sister, since they share different mothers, hers having died (or, perhaps, been murdered, which was the rumour) when she was younger. Being five years her sister's senior, Six was there when her stepmother fled with her daughter, leaving her behind with a drunkard father who was the scorn of most of their little hometown. She grew up alone with him, putting up with his drunk behaviour and trying to make a little living for herself helping out around the town, working with the soldiers, and doing her best to keep herself fed, clothed and alive without her father's help. - She left town when she hit fifteen years old, abandoning her father and her heritage. She began to search for work to keep herself fed, lying about her age, until she became part of a mercenary group at the age of twenty. She grew in a little confidence with them, developing her strength and maturing into herself and her age. She travelled with them for about four years before she met Adrian, who recognised her helplessness and the frustration she felt - specifically, her need for a purpose - and decided to take her under his wing to tutor her in the hopes that she would one day follow him and become a Paladin. - It was this teacher that gave Six her nickname; although she introduced herself by her birth name, Cecilia, when they were playing together Adrian often rolled sixes. He told her that she must be her lucky charm, and so she adopted the nickname 'Six' to match it. They travelled together for about a year, where Six was taught about what it meant to become a Paladin. Over that time, Six began to fall in love with him, but was reticent about her feelings: it was only late in their friendship that she admitted how she felt and he said he felt the same, but they needed to move beyond their student-teacher relationship before they could do anything together. Six agreed, and they promised to continue as they were without the pressure of questioning their own emotions. - Two weeks later, they were attacked. With Adrian using his strength to try and fight them off and protect her, Six still almost died. Adrian spent most of his time trying to protect Six (who took a greatsword to the back, almost killing her) before he died in the fight. Six woke up and buried him, keeping the hilt of his blade with her to try and bury somewhere else in memory to him - or to, perhaps, one day return it to his parents. - Six ends up formally devoting herself to Seyra and embracing what that means, just as Adrian would have wanted.
